This type of evaluation is required by some universities, and it can be used for teacher certifications and licensing, CPA examinations or membership in professional associations.

Original or Notarized copies of academic documents — diplomas (degree certificates) and/or academic transcripts (indicating major and graduation date — if applicable) with certified English translations. Description of Service

Professional Work Experience Evaluation: This type of evaluation also evaluates the applicants’ education (if applicable), as well as the progressively responsible professional work experience, using the USCIS “three-for-one” rule. This rule states that three years of professional work experience can be substituted for one year of academic study in order to equate the work experience to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree. (This equivalency is used for USCIS and DOL purposes only; the applicant cannot use this type of report for admission into university programs or other non-immigration purposes based on work experience.) AETS’ Work Experience Evaluations are completed by PhD university professors with the “authority to grant college-level credit for training and/or work experience.”

Description of Service
  1. Letters from previous employers describing work experience. (Letters should indicate job title, dates of employment, and job descriptions.) Work experience letters must be written on company letterhead and signed by a supervisor.
  2. Copies of academic documents — diplomas (degree certificates) and/or academic transcript (indicating graduation date and major) with certified English translations. If you require an English translation, click here for a free quote. (Academic documents are only necessary if you have post-secondary education. Professional work experience evaluations can be performed without the educational evaluation, based on the “three-for-one” rule.)
  3. Curriculum vitae with detailed job duties.
  4. Completed Application Form Click here. Please indicate the type of work experience degree equivalency sought on the application form. Description of Service

Expert Opinion Position Evaluation: This type of evaluation analyzes the job duties of a particular position, determining if the position is a ‘Specialty Occupation’ and requires a Bachelor’s degree. An AETS ‘industry expert’ (PhD) evaluator will determine if the job duties of the position are so complex that only an individual with a Bachelor’s degree or higher could adequately perform the required tasks. Furthermore, this evaluation explains why the position would be considered a ‘Specialty Occupation’.

Required Documents
  1. Detailed information regarding employer, position and prior employment for the sought position. (e.g. Petitioner’s Cover Letter)
  2. Detailed list of job duties to be performed.
  3. Company Information (number of employees, revenue, type of industry)
  4. RFE or Denial
  5. Completed Application Form (click here for application form). Please indicate the specialty occupation on the application form. If you have any questions, please call an AETS representative at (786) 276-8190 or email us at info@aetsinternational.com.

Description of Service

Expert Opinion Position Analysis: This type of evaluation examines the individual’s educational background and explains why their degree relates to the proffered position. An AETS ‘industry expert’ (PhD) evaluator will examine the courses completed by the individual and explain in detail why those particular courses qualify the candidate for the proffered position. This type of evaluation differs from the Position Evaluation because it focuses on the individual’s education and compares the coursework to the proffered position..
